As far as it is known, most part of the whole humanity has a common belief in existence. Again, an important aim in almost all of the known and believed celestial (Abrahamic) religions and beliefs from traditions is the endeavour to be andcreate a good moral human being. While these facts andacceptances are obvious on the one hand; on the other, peopleof different races, cultures and civilisations on earth, by thewill and power of the same will, live a life as if they ignore thephilosophy of creation and what is expected of them.
As Aşık Veysel expresses in one of his sayings, why this angerand this hatred exist if “we are from the same being"? Whythis idea of making the world narrow and difficult for eachother? And why does this situation continue to increase bothits existence and its intensity since the known history of mankind? These and similar questions inevitably come to ourminds...
The whole issue is the matter of not being able to restrain ourgreed, trying to own the world of which we are thebeneficiaries; desire of "let it all be mine, let me be the one in charge, let me be the owner of power, might and wealth". Infact, we are the needy party, not the capable party. We are not the creator but the created and the beneficiary. However, boththe size of the world and the current existence of human andother living populations are too balanced and in favour of mankind to require this greed.
When we look at what is happening; as human beings, we arein a race to leave a legacy of victimisation or prosperity to thenext generations by forgetting the purpose of our existence on earth and experiencing and perpetuating a result that will costour own lives. This state of mind in people from the nuclearfamily to big family and nation structures is our reality, andinstead of decreasing as time passes; unfortunately, itsdiameter, severity and multiplier increase and continue itsexistence.
The negative effects of wars, which are decided and wagedwithout taking into account the psychology of society andwithout proper consideration, especially when they areinitiated with an aggressive and occupying mentality by thosewho are not satisfied with their rights, are experienced by thelarge masses who are more passive, who stand on thesidelines, who are more unauthorised, and they are the oneswho pay the heaviest price.
At the end of a fierce battle, especially when we consider thekilling power of technology, most of those who would learnfrom the victory or defeat of this work are unfortunately dead, and the necessary lesson cannot be learnt sufficiently. Thosewho remain are potential candidates to continue these tensionsand fights as their heirs.
However, I think that human beings, even if they are not theummah of the same prophet in terms of religion, as believersin the same God, should be able to come together, ponder, seriously review what is happening, approach such problemsmore softly and constructively and find solutions.
The Ottoman Empire did not leave the sanctity of Al-AqsaMosque only to Muslims; it showed that it was a commonheritage for humanity by inscribing "Lâ ilâhe illallah, Ibrahimkhalîlullah" on the wall of Al-Aqsa Mosque to the satisfactionof both Christians and Jews also. But now, since the Muslims, Christians and Jews continue to think of owning it on theirown, Al-Aqsa Mosque cannot be owned by anyone, and noone can worship there in peace.
Acting with common sense is a form of willpower that is necessary before many disasters and calamities.
If large states and their leaders with great responsibility andauthority could look at this issue from this perspective, if noone provoked or backed anyone unilaterally, I believe thatmuch more just and permanent solutions would emerge.
Neither Palestinians can destroy Israel by ignoring it, norIsraelis can erase Palestine from history by ignoring it. Therefore, the only options left are either violence, tension, oppression and unrest, or love, peace and tranquility. In thiscase, the solution to this problem, which has been going on forcenturies and will continue to go on with this mindset, shouldbe to follow a path as the Ottomans did and to restore the Al-Aqsa Mosque to a peaceful and tranquil environment with a structure that will make it possible for members of all threeAbrahamic religions to worship. In addition to this proposalbased on religion and belief, it should not be forgotten thatpolitical developments such as the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, as recognised by United Nations resolutions, will also play a role in solving the currentproblems.
In the meantime, I invite Israel to move away from thisimmoral understanding by making a holy religion the causeand subject of war and by targeting civilians, hospitals andusing chemical weapons, which I also condemn.
It is our God who will be pleased with our servitude andaccept our worship. Our biggest contradiction as humanbeings is that in the name of pleasing and worshipping Him, we kill innocent lives and carry out activities which Heconsiders as great sin and forbids us to do!
